As I mention in my last blog. Esports season is coming to an end but there are a few teams that are still competing and few that wrapped up their season all together. The program also hosted a their first 2k Tournament. So I am here to fill you in on all that and more. 

Overwatch

Overwatch had a very successful season that was slightly unexpected from the team. As they had major changes at the being of the season. This all came to a close at the GLEC LAN event that was held at the Game Arena in Columbus Ohio. Overwatch would make it to the semi final sadly failing to make the final. However the team is young and only looking to get better. We can not wait to see what they will do next semester. 

Rocket League

Rocket League Varsity was having a very rocky start to their season. With internal issues between players but with coaching from our director they were able to smooth it out and put on a show at the GLEC LAN. They would make it all the way to the grand finals where they would take on Mount Union the reigning champs. ONU would lose the first two matches of the best of seven series. They would tie up the series with very dominate wins but it was to late. Mount Union found ONU's weakness and exploited it to take the series and claim the title once again. ONU varsity was still very proud of their performance as they have at least one more year all together. 

League of Legends

League of Legends is one of the only teams still competing in an online league. They played against the hardest team in the league and ended up pulling out the win. They have their final coming up soon so wish them luck. 

Program

ONU esports hosted their first 2k tournament. It was a smaller turnout than wanted but we gained a lot knowledge about the students on campus. Will use it going forward and we can not wait to host our next one. This week we do have Ohio regional finals hosted here on campus. It will be taking place over in the IT building through out the weekend. We will have matches on our twitch stream throughout the weekend.
